#YAPGTPFH1108_C,D,E
Green Tree Python (Morelia viridis) (Yapen)
Captive bred and hatched November 2008
The Yapen is a fairly rare island locale which has started to become a fixture in some high-end breeding programs. While it is true that the island of Yapen is located very near to the island of Biak, it is equidistant to the mainland of Western Papua as well, sitting directly between Biak and Western Papua. This fact could be why while both island races share some similar traits, Yapens have been shown to exhibit some exciting and unusual patterns and coloration that differ from the Biak. One notable characteristic of the Yapen is their propensity to have lots of white. Some specimens literally look like they have had white paint splashed on their sides. Other specimens have shown an interesting characteristic of red/orange persistence! Like the Biaks, the Yapens can take up to four years to go completely through their ontogenesis. These juvies are quite even tempered and hammer their thawed fuzzies with gusto! As of now I'm only offering these five so don't hesitate!
As always when dealing with Frantz Herpetological you can expect a smooth and effortless transaction. Rest assured we will stand behind our animals, guarantee their health, lineage, AND that they feed.
